I so love the imagery in this: "Hope has dirt on her face, blood on her knuckles, the grit of the cobblestones in her hair, and just spat out a tooth as she rises for another go."

I agree that hope is not a delicate matter, but as so well crafted here, a battle sometimes just to get up again. Beautiful. Jen!
