I once heard the man upstairs beating his wife. They didn’t know we were home and we called for help.

Later she said she fell to receive her black eye and other injuries. Sometimes people end up in worse condition when we get involved. It’s sad, but sometimes it happens. Other times it may save a woman. So glad you made the choice that you did. Maybe she lived that night because of you.
