My Daughter’s Friend Gave Me the Best Backhanded-Compliment

Remember fashion plates? I remember mixing the plates of Barbie-like heads, torsos and feet to create glamous outfits.

Dress to Impress is the Roblux version that’s gamified fashion.

In October of 2024, the game has been played over 350 Billion times and has an average of 250,000 users each day, according to the Tulane Hullabaloo.

It was no surprise to pop my head into my daughter’s room to see her playing the game while being on a call with a friend.

“Whatcha doing?”

“Playing Dress to Impress.”

“What outfits are you making?” I asked as I lean in to observe.

She was making a gorgeous ballgown overlayed with various layers of different colors and sheer fabrics.

“Layers make the best outfits,” she said.
