In the midst of life’s trials, it’s important to remember that everyone carries some form of pain. Whether it’s visible on the surface or hidden deep within, we never truly know the battles others are fighting.

Because you never know what someone is facing, it’s important to gauge your words with care.

Mark Twain said, “Never tell the truth to people who are not worthy of it.”

While in great pain, a little sugar coating of the truth may be best, depending on the situation.

You may have missed a high event on Friday. Taylor Swift released a new album: The Tortured Poets Department. Listening to the record, I hear a woman in pain. I’m not sure how a person survives that kind of pain, but it seems that something extraordinary is necessary to heal.

It’s more than self-care and perspective, although I’m not sure exactly what it takes to soften deep pain. Nature therapy tends to work for me.

Seeking beauty in the ordinary of everyday things starts to put us on the right path. Viktor Frankl and Man’s Search for Meaning come to mind.

What works for you? While you think it over, enjoy some of our latest reads.
